Stud Triple Crown – Shaun Deeb Wins Third SCOOP 2012 Title

After winning the $2,100 Stud and $2,100 Triple Stud events, <strong>Shaun Deeb</strong> also took down the $2,100 Stud Hi/Lo tournament in the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) 2012.

Shaun Deeb has been performing brilliantly in this year’s SCOOP; it is becoming highly unlikely that anyone else could grab the Player of the Year title from him. Yesterday, he won his third SCOOP 2012 title, winning the $2,100 Stud Hi/Lo event after taking down the $2,100 Stud and the $2,100 Triple Stud, too. With all three high stakes Stud tournaments won, we could say he has his “Stud Triple Crown”.

Event #26-H $2,100 Stud Hi/Lo was entered by 74 players, piling up a total prize pool of $148,000. As was the case in the previous two high stakes Stud events, an incredibly tough field participated in the tournament, out of which the following eight players made it to the final table, with Deeb in the chiplead:

After the elimination of ‘DazzleO,’ ‘kasparov007,’ ‘Slammedfire,’ ‘Fred_Brink’ and PokerStars pro ‘E. Katchalov’ in the 4th place, ‘PerpCzech’ managed to get ahead of his two rivals, taking a major pot from Deeb. This also led to a minor verbal clash between the two players:

PerpCzech said, "i just read shaun deebs soul"
shaundeeb said, "play everyhand"
shaundeeb said, "and call down 100"
shaundeeb said, "youll be right sometimes"
shaundeeb said, "we can play after if you want"
PerpCzech said, "only gonna read your soul once"
PerpCzech said, "once is good"
shaundeeb said, "and the 7 times you called me dwn dead"
shaundeeb said, "i said nothing"
PerpCzech said, "never mind then"
shaundeeb said, "dunno why youre such a **** online"
shaundeeb said, "and so nice in person"

After eliminating ‘caprioli’ in the 3rd place, Deeb managed to reduce his handicap, to the point when, winning the biggest pot in the tournament, he also took the lead.

In the final hand, ‘PerpCzech’ shoved on the third street:

PerpCzech: {#}K {#}6 {#}9 {#}A {#}5 {#}T {#}8
shaundeeb: {#}T {#}2 {#}K {#}4 {#}3 {#}3 {#}8

With a pair of 3s, Deeb won his third (overall fourth) SCOOP title.
