You can find our analysis of the Betfred VIP structure before April, 2012 here.
The first deposit bonus
- If you are a new player in the room, you are eligible for the 200% up to $2,000 first deposit bonus (Please, check our Betfred Room Review page for the latest bonus as it might change following the publication of this article)
- 400 points redeem $5 bonus, which means the full $2,000 bonus can be redeemed by collecting 160,000 points (There is a 90 days limit to do this)
- You receive 20 points per $1 rake in tournaments and cash games alike
- This means that generating 160,000/20 = $8,000 in rake is necessary to get the entire $2,.000 first deposit bonus for a $2,000/$8,000 = 25% rakeback equivalent for the first deposit bonus period only. You can, of course, add the Rakerace.com private offer to this.
Basics
- The VIP system is based on points: Value Points and Career Points
- You receive points after every real money cash game and tournament you play
- Rake and points are received based on the weighted contributed method
- Your points balance is checked daily and you are granted your VIP status the following day accordingly. This means that progression in VIP levels is instant.
Points calculation
- Value Points: VIP player points (basic administrative unit, non-cashable)
- Career Points: loyalty points (cashable, the more you play the quicker you receive them)
- Value Points and Career Points are related: Value Points depend on the amount of rake you generate, while Career Points are also based on VIP level. The higher Level you are, the quicker your cashable points accumulate.
- Check the chart below to see how you receive your Career Points when you play in USD, Euro or GBP
Betfred Poker VIP Club
- The Club has 9 Levels: Home Game, Pub Poker, Local Casino, London, Dublin, Cannes, Monte Carlo, Macau and Las Vegas
- The higher Level you are, the quicker your Career Points accumulate
- Your Career Points are cashable or you can use them for tournament entries
- The greater amount of Points you cash out, the better return percentage you get, so it is worth collecting as many as you can and cash them out in larger instalments
The VIP system and the return percentages are summarized below:
How did we calculate the figures in our chart?
1. You can see in the chart how many Value Points are needed to reach the individual Levels. Considering that you get 20 Career points per $1 rake , it is easy to get the amount of rake necessary for each Level. As a result, we get the numbers in column Necessary Rake ($) by dividing Necessary Value Points by 20.
2. In the Value Point Booster column you can see what percentage more Career Points you receive after the Value Points on the higher Levels. For example, on Cannes Level you get 1.4 Career Points after 1 Value Point, while on London you only get 1.15 Career Points.
3. In order to get the percentages in the Estimated Return column, we need some side calculation. The Betfred website tells us how much cash can be redeemed after the Value Points. This is important, because, as we mentioned, the greater amount of Points we redeem, the better return we get. As you can see in the next chart below, we only get $100 after 20,000 Points, while 60,000 Points are worth $400.
4. Next, we need to calculate how many Career Points we need on the individual Levels to reach the different “cash out levels.” To do this, we only need to exchange the necessary Value Points into Career Points with the multipliers seen above. For instance, use the 1.15 multiplier on the London Level and the 1.5 on the Macau. This gives us the necessary Career Points, as seen below.
5. Once we get how many Career Points we need for the individual “cash out levels,” it is easy to determine how much rake is necessary for each of them. Simply divide the calculated Career Points by 20 (as you get 20 points after $1 rake).
6. We are close now. We already know how much rake we need for the “cash out levels” on the different VIP Levels, so now we can calculate the return percentages. For example, if we are on Monte Carlo Level and want to cash 200,000 Points, we can calculate with the $6,494 in rake we need to generate on the Level for this. Now, if we divide the $1,800 we got for the 200,000 points by the necessary rake, we get the 28%, the return percentage. Similarly, we can get all the other figures, too.
7. As is apparent form the chart, it is difficult to assign an exact percentage to the individual Levels. However, in practice we can give a good expectable estimate on the returns based on real life experience. These are the figures you can see in our chart (on top and below).
Do not forget that, in addition to the Betfred loyalty system, you can count on the extreme return from Rakerace.com monthly private promotion, too.
See you at Betfred!
