We have been online since 2007 — long enough to have covered the rise of online poker, the closure of more than a dozen poker rooms we once partnered with, and the arrival of crypto casino platforms alongside the classic poker world.

Our core business has not changed in those 19 years: we negotiate rakeback deals, private rake races and exclusive promotions with poker rooms, and we pass the value on to players who register through us. Since launch we have paid more than $1 million in promotion prizes to over 5,000 players. In the twelve months to August 2026 alone, that was $348,247 across 3,315 paid leaderboard places — and those are not marketing numbers: the full month-by-month breakdown is on our payouts page, taken directly from each monthly promotion archive.

RakeRace is run by a small editorial team alongside around 20 people handling deal negotiation, player support and payments. Editorial is led by Norbert Bárdos, who has written about poker under the name banoster since 2009, with Zenderman as our resident poker specialist and instructor. Every member of the editorial team is listed on our team page, with their background, their areas of coverage and a link you can check. We don't publish anonymous reviews: every recommendation on this site has a name attached to it.

RakeRace is free for players. We earn a commission from poker rooms and casinos when a player registers through our links — the same model that funds most comparison sites. What makes the difference is how the model is handled: commissions never decide our rankings or review scores, partners cannot buy a position on our toplists, and every commercial relationship is labelled.
