WCOOP Main Event: ‘PotterPoker’ Wins

The <em><a href="http://www.rakerace.com/poker-rooms/pokerstars/" title="PokerStars Room Review"><strong>PokerStars</strong> </a>World Championship of Online Poker</em> was held between 5th and 28th September with over 50,000 participants playing for the $62 million total prize pool. The buy-in for most of the events was around $100-$300. Gametypes varied from NLHE to Omaha and even 7 Card Stud.

The $5,200 Main Event, taking place on 26th-28th September, was originally guaranteed a $10 million prize pool and $2 million for the winner. As 2,443 players entered, however, it eventually exceeded $12 million which was distributed to the best 306 and the winner, ‘PotterPoker’, took home $2.3 million. He both managed to beat many of the pros of the online poker community and won the biggest WCOOP prize ever; except for some WSOP, WPT and EPT events, it was even bigger than most of the live tournament prizes as well.
