Eugene Katchalov
Following Blom also winning both a $35,000 and a $12,000 pot, Katchalov finally earned $44,300 with 5 6 against Isildur1’s 4 6 on the 8 7 5 3 3 board. Before long, however, a series of bad luck for Katchalov started, eventually enabling Blom to win the Showdown: Isildur1 called his 5-bet all-in on the 8 4 3 flop, and showed T 8 against MyRabbiFoo’s pocket jacks; unfortunately for the latter, the 8 turn and the neutral river gave the $31,500 pot to the Swede.
Isildur1: sorry
MyRabbiFoo: all good :)
Katchalov’s misfortune seemed to be there to stay. He first lost with pocket queens against K 8 , then he busted out on one of the tables with A 6 against T 7 (in both cases, Blom had two pairs). In their final hand, he called Isildur1’s preflop all-in with J J , who held A A . The board coming neutral, Blom ended up with $111,750 in profit, winning the third time in the SuperStar Showdowns series.
