Last time we wrote about Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom, he had his Hungarian opponent 'DodgyFish72' beaten by just one big blind in the last installment of the SuperStar Showdown. Now it's up to Daniel 'KidPoker' Negreanu to try to get some money off his fellow pro. He will have 2 chances to do so.
According to PokerStars, Blom and Negreanu will face off on two consecutive Sundays, March 20 and March 27, at 15:00 ET. The details are much the same as previous Showdown matches, although this time the contest is spread over two weekends.
Negreanu has been preparing for their epic match for quite some time now; he has been playing against some very good players as he reported on his blog. He also posted some results:
Nananoko 2501 hands +$854.50
FMyLife 1546 hands -$11,057.25
dim--trix 1050 hands -$6,913.50
knecht_poker 1035 hands -$895.00
TCFromUB 323 hands +$3213.30
sergiobraga 258 hands -$118.00
adtina22 47 hands -$1.00
"It's all part of the learning process, and I'm a big believer in going all out against the fastest competition I can find, because then when I play others, the pace will seem comfortable," he wrote. "It's no different than a baseball player swinging five bats before he goes up to the plate, or a golfer taking some practice swings with a heavy club." - he commented.
After 4 wins out of 5, Isildur1 is definitely the favourite of the match, Negreanu doesn't have great odds. Who do you think will win? Tell us in the comment section below.
