Viktor Blom vs Isaac Haxton
Play resumed from the 692nd hand Tuesday in the afternoon, with ’Isildur1’ up $99,886. Immediately before the first hand, Haxton once again apologised for the inconvenience, which Blom accepted. Then the game started. Following the quick change of hands of some major pots (a $42,144 one won by Haxton and a $48,000 going to ’Isildur1’), Blom became to dominate the match, piling up an edge of $125,122. In the next hour, however, Haxton came back to a $77,000 minus.
In another significant hand, ’Isildur1’ opened to $600, Haxton 3-bet $2,200 and ’Isildur1’ called. The flop came Q 4 A , Haxton bet $2,640 and Blom called. On the J turn, Haxton opened to $7,100, the Swede called once again and along came the 6 river. Haxton pushed his remaining $18,590, ’Isildur1’ insta-called and showed J J for a set and the $61,060 pot. Haxton held 5 8 .
About halfway through the 2,500 hands session, ’Isildur1’ had a profit of $117,845. Haxton once again tried to come back, eventually eliminating Blom’s remaining edge of $49,775 with winning a pot of $65,600 with a set of eights against the Swede’s failed straight draw. The American gained an edge of $78,921 by the 2,150th hand but then it was ’Isildur1’ who managed to come back, so they started the last 80 or so hands neck and neck. Eventually, Haxton emerged as victorious with a minor profit of $5,093, defeating ’Isildur1’ for the second time.
Blom’s next SuperStar Showdown challenger is NLHE specialist Andrew ’Kanu7’ Millar, the session takes place Sunday afternoon.
