PokerStars informed their players in a newsletter that the 100 Billionth hand is going to be dealt on Thursday. The announcement was followed by a major spark in traffic for the largest poker site in the world; the number of cash tables rose from the average 25,000 to 55,000 in just an hour. The player who won the milestone hand would get $100,000 but the players at the table would also get a handsome amount, just as all the players playing at the limit would get a share of the $1,000,000 total prize pool of the 100 Billion Hands Celebration promotion.
The 100 Billionth hand was dealt at the table named Euryalos XI, an NL5 cash table where the Greek microulis69 took the $31,55 pot and the bonus $103,800.
