This year’s online poker world championship, the WCOOP is over; undoubtedly, the $5,200 NLHE Main Event that had its final day on Monday, 26th September drew the most attention. Following a deal among the final five, 28-year-old Dane pro Thomas ’Kallllle’ Pedersen was announced winner for $1,260,018.

Q: How do you feel about your victory?
A: Well, great. But it’s still “unreal.” I don’t really understand it yet, I think.
Q: What happens now? Obviously, you’re not going to go to sleep...
A: No, we rented a café in town and so we go down and get some shots and some brunch and then we go and celebrate and get drunk. Aarhus can be burned tomorrow morning, let's put it this way. It's crazy. It is totally crazy!
Q: Can you describe how the night has been? How has it felt to be getting closer and closer to millions?
A: Well, it has been exciting all along. Every time I won a pot, I was thrilled. Still, I tried to keep both feet on the ground and stay in the moment. It's been rough in general, though. I've probably won 80% of my flips. This is what it takes, I guess.
Q: Do you have any plans for the money already?
A: Maybe I'll buy the apartment I rent now. I have not thought much about it yet, though. There is probably enough to take off...
