The event caused huge press uproar, and
Janina Medvedeviené, president of the Ethics Board would like to consider acts like this indictable offence in the future.
At convocations in Kaunas, solid debate and arguments are a common thing, but this time, it was a much more peaceful activity that raised media attention. Former home secretary Jona Furmanaviciu started an online poker session, which got uncloaked by a watchful cameraman.
"The debate was about supporting Zalgiris Kaunas, and it was not only me who found it desperately boring, but all the other members as well. Seriously.. Do we really need to listen to every meaningless speech?" commented Furmanaviciu on the incident.
Well, according to Janina Medvedeviené, president of the Ethics Board, the answer to this question is yes. According to Janina, many local politicians abuse the fact that the Code of Conduct is quite scanty, and added, that such acts would have more severe consequences in the future.
Well, we do hope that the Aces kept up until the very end for Furmanaviciu!
