The Triton Super High Roller Series in Jeju delivered a hand that will be remembered for years: Ossi Ketola outdrew Alex Foxen to claim a pot worth nearly $11 million, the largest ever shown on stream.
Triton’s heads-up showdown
While the Triton Series is best known for its star-studded tournaments, this year’s stop in Jeju also featured ultra-high-stakes heads-up challenges that stole the spotlight. One of the most talked-about clashes came when Ketola, the controversial Finnish businessman turned high-stakes enthusiast, sat down against Foxen, a two-time GPI Player of the Year and one of poker’s toughest professionals.
The hand that made history
In the decisive hand, Ketola opened on the button with K-J offsuit, while Foxen defended his big blind with 8-6.
The flop came K-J-8 with two diamonds, giving Ketola top two pair and Foxen a pair plus a flush draw. The turn brought a diamond, completing Foxen’s flush, and he bet $250,000. Ketola called, keeping the hand under control.
The river was a king, improving Ketola to a full house. Foxen went for value with a $550,000 bet, only to face an all-in shove. After a long tank, Foxen called — and lost.
The pot grew to $10,990,000, the largest ever broadcast, and Ketola scooped it.
Beyond the felt
The drama was amplified when YouTube abruptly took down the live stream, forcing viewers to switch to Kick and Twitch to witness history.
Foxen, despite being one of the game’s most accomplished competitors, had to settle for second best in the biggest televised pot ever. As for Ketola, with momentum on his side, the poker world is left wondering if he’ll push Triton’s nosebleed stakes even higher in the future.
