Eugene Katchalov
Katchalov was born in Kiev, Ukraine but was raised in Brooklyn and studied Finance and International Business at New York University. He went professional in 2003 and has won over $6 million in live tournaments since. Going by the screen name ‘MyRabbiFoo,’ he has also had respectable results in online poker, winning over $500,000 in total plus a WCOOP bracelet.
“I feel very fortunate in having the opportunity to represent PokerStars," Katchalov noted on the agreement. "It is the largest and, in my opinion, the best-run poker site in the world, with a great team of pros. I look forward to continuing my great run in poker and helping PokerStars successfully expand and evolve within the ever-changing world of poker.”
His newly acquired fellow Team Pro member Daniel Negreanu spoke highly of him: “Eugene has always flown under the radar, but among his peers, his game is well respected and he is considered one of the best in the world, both in tournaments and cash games."I’m thrilled to see Eugene as part of the team. He’s a great guy and an excellent poker ambassador.”
Katchalov debuts as a PokerStars Pro at the Russian Poker Series Kiev event on March 26. He plays online as 'E. Katchalov' from now on.
