Four times WSOP champion Daniel Negreanu has recently offered a challenge to three Full Tilt Poker pros: Gus Hansen, Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom and Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan. The catalyst was a tweet from Gus Hansen in which he mocked Negreanu with a cooler hand:

Negreanu might not have been very happy about bringing up the loss of the $575,000 pot but he also smelled a great opportunity for marketing so he offered the challenge with the following rules: they would play heads-up SNGs in teams of three.
Hansen soon accepted and, without surprise, his fellow FTP pros also followed suit. Meanwhile, Negreanu’s team has also been formed with Isaac ‘luvtheWNBA’ Haxton and Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier.
Negreanu spoke about his picks in his video blog:
Players are expected to throw in $50,000 each for a $300,000 total prize pool and the winning team must have two showdown victories. Negreanu himself will play against Hansen, the other pairs are not yet scheduled. The challenge takes place during EPT London between 5 and 16 March, but it will not be live: the pros will bring laptops to play online at FTP, as offered by the challenger.
While the challenge is more than likely a well organised promotion for Ratinal Group-owned FTP and PS, it will be a must see for poker fans, if nothing else, for the fact that it will be the first ever official clash of the two skins.
Meanwhile, HU SNG specialist Olivier ‘livb112’ Busquet has also contacted Negreanu to challenge the winning team with his own. Negreanu did not say no but this second challenge will surely not be part of the EPT London schedule.
