In June last year, one of the best tennis players today, Rafael Nadal joined the PokerStars team and now, yet another top player signs up. One of the mos successful players of all time, footballer Ronaldo is now on the team as well.
Ronaldo, or Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima in his full name, has played on the Brasilian national team at a total of 98 times, scoring 62. He won the world championship in 1994 and 2002, while being successful with his club as well, winning two times the Spanish national league with the Real Madrid, among else. Injured several times, he did books a lot of personal achievements nevertheless: he is two-times Ballon d'Or winner and chosen as the best player of thw world by FIFA for three times.
Ronaldo retired from football in 2011 but can keep confusing his opponents at the poker tables.
"I always look to give my best in everything, in football and in life.Poker is another challenge that excites me. I enjoy trying to read my opponents and choosing the best way to win," he commented.
The 'Phenomenon' joins the likes of Boris Becker, Fatima Moreira De Melo, Rafael Nadal, Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, former Manchester United star Juan Sebastian Verón and Ukrainian Ballon d'Or winner Andrij Sevchenko as a PokerStars Team SportStars member.
