The Norwegian player tried to conceal his identity as much as possible, but it was clear that a player of his standing cannot hide forever from publicity. As his bankroll grew, the more and more theories surfaced about his real identity.
The Odd_Oddsen and no_Ola were supposed to be the nicks of the 1986-born Ola Moum. Moum is an E-sports champion who is considered one of the best Counter-Strike players of all time. Others said that it is 20 years old Ole-Kristian Nedgard, who plays under these nicks. The young Norwegian would not only be rolled for high stakes games because of his poker success, his father is an accomplished businessman in the seafood industry and paid his son's share of $28,8 million. Both theories turned out to be off.
Odd_Oddsen tweeted that he participates in this year's WSOP, therefore speculations rose about which Norwegian player at the tables is in fact Odd_Oddsen. The local reporters managed to find it out and made a short interview with him. In it, they didn't reveal his name, but published two photographs of him playing.
We took the time to investigate. We found out that the pictures were made during the $10,000 PLO event, and the player's real name in the pictures is Ola Amundsgard.
Amundsgard has only one live tournament result, a JP Masters Dublin €2,000 HORSE tournament 5th place for $1,986. He won an ITM position at this year's WSOP already; he finished 25th at the Event #59 - $2,500 Triple Draw Lowball ($4,599).
