PokerStars started testing Zoom Poker, its fast-paced game this February. Two months later, the game also had its debut at the real money tables, initially only at the lower limits, then gradually became available at an increasing number of stakes and game types.
Only a few days after the real money debut, Zoom Poker's success already became evident. At that time, Zoom Poker was already responsible for 25% of the traffic at PokerStars and made out half of all cash game traffic, thanks to the fact that players are able to play three times as many hands as at the average cash tables. The statistics have not stopped improving since then.
On th 15th May, PokerStars announced that the game's test period ended after 300 million Zoom Poker hands dealt. With this, Zoom Poker has been officially launched.
This was followed by another important announcement, namely that the Zoom Poker tables are from now on also available for players using Android cell phones. No news has yet come concerning updates for iPhone and iPad users, but these are expected to appear in the Apple Store within the next couple of weeks.
