Market leader online poker room PokerStars has announced that they aim to organize the largest online poker tournament ever with an expected turnout of 230,000 players and a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000; this means that, even if the field reaches the cap, the overlay will be $70,000. The winner gets at least $25,000.
The world record attempt event kicks off at 19:00 CET on 23 February in the .com client. Even though the buy-in is a humble $1, satellites to the event will be available. Players who deposit at least $10 get a ticket to the tournament, if they use the RECORD2014 bonus code. First depositors are also eligible for an entry, as well as $20 extra cash if they enter the FREE20 bonus code.
