PokerStars launched its Sunday Storm weekly tournament three years ago replacing the Sunday 1/4 Million and the $11 event, which offers a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool, has been among the most popular in the portfolio of the room ever since.
The number one operator has now announced that it is hosting the Sunday Storm 3rd Anniversary event on 13 April 2014, with the guaranteed prize pool raised from $300,000 to a whopping $1,000,000 and a $100,000 guaranteed prize for the winner. Of course, the buy-in remains the usual $11.
Bounty prizes will also be added: the player who eliminates Team PokerStars Online member Ike Haxton receives a Sunday Million ticket worth $215; the one who rails Team PokerStars Pro Joe Cada is given a PokerStars leather jacket; and whoever sends Team PokerStars Pro Humberto Brenes packing deserves an exclusive chip set.
In addition to the usual satellites, two last minute qualifiers will also be offered on the day of the tournament: 1,000 players can earn their seats in both the $1.10 and the $3.30 event. To make your way to the last minute satellites, you can participate in the $0.10 first round qualifiers, running hourly from 31 March.
