Thanks to its $300,000 buy-in the rakeless format and the soft field, the event is favored by most of the high-roller regulars. However, not everyone has the chance to participate.
The tournament has an entry-cap each year and since usually way more players want to participate, than the number of the seats, the organizers draw the names in a lottery-format ceremony, to decide who can play. Those who want their names in the basket have to pay a $30,000 deposit, which is a huge gamble since even those who aren't lucky enough to get in won't get their money back.
This time there were 61 pros for 30 seats, meaning 31 of them will miss the event. You can see both lists with all of the names below:
