Join GGPoker’s Road to Vegas Campaign
GGPoker started its Road to Vegas campaign on 19th March and it will run until well into June. The 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is upon us, starting in May and running until July. Around 600 seats are up for grabs through this GGPoker campaign, and we explore exactly how it works.
Road to Vegas Campaign
The WSOP is one of the most exciting live tournaments worldwide, and poker players worldwide flock to participate. That’s why GGPoker is giving away 500 seats while the social poker app, ClubGG, will give away 100 seats through its subscription-based services.
Qualifiers start as low as $1, and players can win dozens of main event packages, which include invites to the WSOP. GGPoker will be one of the operators to send the most players in one go in their official capacity as a WSOP partner.
The opening day of this campaign has seven satellites, and buy-ins start at $600. With a $1,175 buy-in, you’re guaranteed 20 packages, while a single satellite guarantees two packages. For players who don’t want to invest, there’s the option of trying the freerolls, which award seats for the coveted event.
Markets
International players can find this campaign on its dot-com website, available to all eligible countries. However, players in Ontario will also find GGPoker offers the campaign under the WSOP branding but using GGPoker software.
Winners
The qualifiers award the winners with a package valued at $12,000, which includes seven nights of accommodation at Horseshoe Las Vegas Hotel and Casino from the 1st to the 8th of July. It also gives $1,000 for travel expenses. Of course, the winner will also win a seat for the $10,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event and enjoys access to GGPoker-branded gifts, merchandise, and Platinum Lounge.
GGPoker also announced that should one of the winners of their package win the WSOP Main Event, they’ll win another $1 million on top of the WSOP prize.
History of Awarding Seats - PokerStars
In 2003, Chris Moneymaker won the 2003 Main Event after winning a seat on PokerStars with an $86 buy-in satellite and went in to win $2.5 million. This news boosted the event’s popularity and resulted in PokerStars sending up to 2,000 players to the event in one year, although not in the official capacity as a WSOP partner.
Now, it’s a common occurrence for operators to send a few players to the event each year, especially if that operator partners with WSOP. This year is GGPoker’s third year of awarding seats to players, and so far, it’s the year with the most seats up for grabs.
