Unibet’s New Summer Knockout Festival of €300,000
Unibet is back again with yet another online tournament series, this time following the ever-popular knockout format. The new Summer Knockout Festival is fresh and unique and promises to feature €300,000 in guaranteed prizes. Running from the 27th of August to the 4th of September, this series is great for poker players no matter what their bankroll is.
The Summer’s Knockout Festival
While the €300,000 prize pool is lower than Unibet’s flagship series, the Unibet Online Series (UOS) prize pool, it’s still higher than series’ like the Slobberknocker’s (€190,000). It’s the second Unibet series dedicated to the progressive knockout format and will feature 18 events.
Format
Most games follow the traditional Hold ’em tables, but four Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments remain. Players will find standard progressive knockouts and conventional fixed prize knockouts as part of the structure.
There are 30% and 70% bounties, Shortstack PKOs starting at 60 big blinds. The 30% and 70% refer to how much of the buy-in contributes to the prize pool. Players will also rank on the Leaderboard as they play, which can award up to €7,000.
Buy-Ins
All numbered events boast two tiers, Low and High, so casual and professional players can participate. The Low tier has buy-ins ranging from €5 to €25, while the high level has buy-ins ranging from €25 to €250. As such, players are looking at a buy-in range of €5 to €250 overall.
Events
There’s no Main Event, but it offers various other exciting opportunities. Two exclusive Phased tournaments are available, offering a €25,000 Summer KO Festival featuring a €25 buy-in and a €7,500 Summer KO Festival featuring a €5 buy-in.
Instead of a Main Event, Unibet highlights the €45,000 Supermoon tournament. Casual players not looking to buy in at €250 can participate in the €7,500 Mini-Supermoon event with a €25 buy-in. All numbered events allow at least two re-entries, and the events’ guaranteed prize pools range from €600 to €45,000.
Other Unibet Series
Unibet is known for its flagship event UOS, but the brand seemed to have retired the quarterly event. The event’s prize pool had consistently remained in the €350,000 to €400,000 mark and expanded during the pandemic to offer €1 million prize pools. However, Unibet had to leave several markets and the last UOS installment had a prize pool of €400,000.
It has recently turned its attention to offering various fresh online tournaments, like the Sobberknocker, UOS Lightning, Spring Poker Championships, and The Chip Race. The overall guarantees in these new series range between €100,000 and €500,000, of which the Summer KO Festival is right on the average. This festival also boasts an average guarantee per event of around €7,895.
