First out was Ruslan Prydryk on level 27 (5,000/30,000/60,000), who went all-in with pocket sixes against Julien Claudepierre’s A Q ; the latter won with top two pairs on the A 4 2 3 3 board. Level 28 (5,000/40,000/80,000) saw the elimination of Anthony Hnatow, who ran into Wice’s flush with A A .
On level 29 (10,000/50,000/100,000) things began to speed up even more; Wice’s full house was enough to eliminate Kenny Hallaert and his pocket fours, right before short stack Kaspars Renga went all-in with A 7 , only to get called and consequently eliminated by Jacobson, who showed 8 5 on the 3 5 Q J 9 board. Wice then managed to send Claudepierre to the rail as well with top two pairs.
No sooner had they reached level 30 (15,000/60,000/120,000) than the whole tournament was over. Cohen went all-in against Wice with Q Q , who showed A Q . On the neutral board, Cohen’s pocket pair held out, sending Wice home in third place. Cohen remained to dominate the heads-up phase as well; he had amassed a massive lead by the time he and Jacobson pushed in their stacks preflop. The latter showing 7 6 , Cohen won the event with ace high on the T 9 3 3 J board. Winning €880,000, this was the Frenchman’s first registered tournament victory ever.
