The game started on the 25th blind level (4000/20,000/40,000). The short stack Renato Paolini had to leave the table first after going all-in with KJ, which got beaten by Lykov's AK on a neutral board. After being crippled by Rodriguez's full house, Lykov had to push all-in with his suited T9, but had no chance against Garrigues' and Mayer's AK. The next to be eliminated was Luca Fiorini, who lost with AT agaist a pair of sevens.

David Vamplew - 5.400.000
Alessio Isaia - 3.165.000
Vamplew was busted soon, he reraised Mayer's 160,000 pre-flop raise, showing K Q against Mayer's Ah Jh, on the 3d Ts 2 A 9 board. The heads-up was set, Mayer started with 5:1 chip lead. This changed very quickly, however, as the Italian player's pocket sixes held against Mayer's pocket fours.
After long hours of play, Mayer managed to double up with quad sixes and then won 1,000,000 with a three of a kind, so he looked like he had more chance. However, after 8hours of play, Isaia went pre-flop all in with his pocket sevens, which defeated the Hungarian pro's AJ. Soon Mayer raised pre-flop all-in with Q 6 , Isaia called with A Q , winning the tournament as no help came for Mayer on the board. After 8 hours and 20 minutes, Venice celebrated the winner, the Italian Alessio Isaia. This has been the longest final heads-up in WPT history.
