Sam Trickett
We already wrote about the success of Sam Trickett at PartyPoker's World Open VI in September, after some other major results he won the Aussie Millions High Roller Event, cashing $1,508,258 and the runner-up finish at the Super High Roller Event brought him $1,384,631. The young ex-footballer poker pro again has the opportunity to win something big: he made it to the final table at the WPT Paris €5,000 Main Event, however, he's quite short stacked.
The WPT Paris Main Event kicked off on February 9, with 188 entrants, the prize pool rose to $870,852. Only 10 players made it to the 4th day of the tournament, so only 2 players had to be eliminated to come down to the final table's 8.
Benjamin Pollak 1.251.000
Ingo Paulus 983.000
Tobias Wagner 748.000
Natalia Nikitina 688.000
Jean-Louis Tepper 470.000
Alexandre Brivot 203.000
Sam Trickett 191.000
Nicolo Calia 176.000
Antanas 'Tony G' Guoga
Another interesting news from WPT is that Tony G, elected the poker personality of the year at the European Poker Awards, announced that French players are the worst ever, and he wanted to show this in an exclusive SNG called the 'Tony G vs. France', where he played against 5 French Players, Bruno Fitoussi, Guillaume Darcourt, Yann Courtet, Gabriel Nassif and Leonard Martin. The winner would win a buy-in to the €10,000 High Roller Event.
Proving that the French are no good didn't work out for the Lithuanian pro, Tony G was eliminated 5th, the winner came to be Gabriel Nassif.
