PCA winner Galen Hall started at the EPT Grand Final €25,000 High Roller final table as chipleader, but he was far from being the single favourite of the event, as several of the biggest names of poker have made it to the final eight.

The setup of the final table was as follows:

First to say goodbye was shortstack Peter Jetten: he went pre-flop all-in with {#}T {#}Q from the Button, called by Hall from the BB with {#}A {#}K . The board read {#}4 {#}A {#}J {#}8 {#}A . The elimination of Hall about five minutes later was all the more surprising; in this short period, Spindler managed to gain the lead before shoving on the river with queens against Hall’s aces. He flopped a queen which proved to be enough for him.

Russian businessman Alex Repik, Vanessa Rousso and David Sands were the next to be sent to the rail. Finally, play got to the heads-up with Juha Helppi being busted; the Finn player’s JT hand was weak against ‘ElkY’s’ queens.

Despite Spindler was up 3:1 against ‘ElkY’ at the beginning of the HU, the French doubled up soon with a jacks overpair against his opponent’s tens top pair – king kicker, just before taking the lead in a mucked hand. Eventually, a cooler finished the tournament: ‘ElkY’ shoved on the {#}2 {#}9 {#}4 {#}J {#}9 board, Spindler called with {#}K {#}9 but the French held {#}9 {#}4 for a full house.
