First to be railed was Michael Benvenuti, but he was followed in mere minutes by both McLean Karr and Eric Cloutier. Lehavot sent the latter to the rail and did similarly to Nicolas Levi at Level 24 (15,000/30,000) on the A 5 9 T 4 board, where he showed A Q against Levi’s pocket sevens.
In about ten minutes, South-African Jarred Solomon opened to 70,000 from UTG and only Tommy Vinas called from the button. The flop came 9 Q 7 , Solomon bet 75,000, Vinas raised to 275,000, Solomon 3-bet pot, Vinas shoved and Solomon called.
Vinas: 7 7
Solomon: 9 9
Turn: 8
River: 8
Solomon won with higher full house, Vinas finished in 5th.
After the elimination of shortstack Chidwick on running into Lehavot’s straight and Sam Stein finishing in 3rd place, it was time for the heads-up between Lehavot (5,415,000) and Solomon (2,160,000). The one hour long session did not bring about many twists; Lehavot managed to increase his lead until Solomon was 4-bet all-in on the Q Q T J 2 board with A J . Lehavot showed A Q with which he broke his former record of greatest live tournament victory, a 4th place finish for $421,680 at WPT LA Poker Classsic.
