WSOP Event #8 - Getzwiller Wins $1,000 NLHE

<strong>Sean Getzwiller</strong> prevailed at the <em>WSOP $1,000 NLHE Event </em>as he defeated <strong>Sadan Turker</strong> in a 5-hour long heads-up. <strong>Jon Turner </strong>(PearlJammer) finished 3rd.

Three-handed play continued on the 4th day of the WSOP $1,000 NLHE tournament. Sadan Turker had the chiplead, he was followed by Sean Getzwiller and the online pro Jon 'PearlJammer' Turner.

The players started on the 29th blind level (10.000/40.000/80.000); the first big pot came along rather early. After Turner's fold, Getzwiller raised to 165,000, Turker reraised all-in, Getzwiller called.

Getzwiller doubled up to nearly 6 million chips with this win.

In the next hand, Turker went all-in after Getzwiller folded. PearlJammer called.

Turker won with a pair of queens, PearlJammer finished in the 3rd place.

The heads-up brought a fierce and long battle between the finalists, they played for 5 hours straight. Turker lead the chipcount in the beginning, he won a huge pot with a flush against a straight. Then Getzwiller managed to win some of his losses back in some smaller pots, he was back to 5,4 million. On the 33rd blind level (30.000/100.000/200.000), he lead already: he went 4bet all-in with {#}A {#}5 , Turker called with {#}J {#}T , and the board was {#}5 {#}7 {#}2 {#}7 {#}7 .

As the game progressed, we saw many all-in/call hands, but the game was tied, as the shortstack managed to double up. But then came the final hand. Turker went all-in with 4,000,000 preflop, Getzwiller called.
