For the first time ever in the history of World Series of Poker Main Events, a Czech player, Martin Staszko, is on the final table; what is more, he is in the chiplead with 40,175,000 in chips. The November Nine also includes American pros Ben ‘benba’ Lamb and Phil ‘USCphildo’ Collins.
WSOP Event #58 $10,000 NLHE Championship Day 8 saw 22 players return and try to secure themselves a place among the coveted November Nine, the WSOP Main Event 9-handed final table. 21 years old Ukrainian Anton Makiievskyi led the field with 21,045,000 in chips. First out was Dane pro Lars Bonding, followed by Chris Moore, Gionni Demers and Aleksandr Mozhnyakov to make the play go two-tabled:

It took about 10 hours to play it down to one table. Finishers were as follows: Kenny Shih (18th), Sam Barnhart (17th), Ryan Lenaghan (16th), Andrey Pateychuk (15th), Scott Schwalich (14th), Konstantinos Mamaliadis (13th), Bryan Devonshire (12th) and Khoa Nguyen (11th). The 10-handed play commenced with the following chipcounts:

Close to another 5 hours passed by the time the members of the 2011 WSOP November Nine could get up from the table. Shortstack Matt Giannetti doubled up on John Hewitt at Level 36 (50,000/250,000/500,000), just when it seemed he would be railed before long. He then repeated that feature on Lamb, once again with pocket jacks.

Hewitt dropped down to 4,125,000 when he called Badih Bounahra’s all-in. It was him to shove next about 20 minutes later, with pocket 3s on Eoghan O'Dea’s preflop raise to 1,100,000.
