WPT Prague - Andrey Pateychuk Wins His Second Major Tourney this Year

<div>The main event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Prague ended with the victory of Andrey Pateychuk. The Russian poker&nbsp;player went home with &euro;450,000 in winnings.&nbsp;</div>

The final table of the €3,500 buy-in event set off on Monday. The German youngster Stanislaw Kretz started as chipleader with 6,300,000 chips.

Russell 'rdcrsn' Carson (who by the way has around $6 million in online winnings) was first to leave. He went all-in from the small blind during his last hand after everyone else folded. Kretz called and showed {#}Q {#}9. Carson's pocket Fives were not enough to take down the the 1,100,000 pot and Kretz won with a pair of Nines.

The next player to get eliminated was Sigurd Eskelund and then followed Benjamin Pollak. Heads-up started when Kretz got busted. The German lost many pots against Pateychuk and his final hand was also played against the Russian pro. Kretz went all-in to Pateychuk's 240,000 preflop raise with almost 2,000,000 chips. After a longer thinking pause, Pateychuk called.

Pateychuk won with top pair, and started heads-up with a minimal lead.

Although Pateychuk took some pots, Balaguer managed to double up quite soon. His pocket Eights were enough to beat Pateychuk's {#}A {#}5

From here, Pateychuk managed to double up twice and take another big pot, and soon enough he was leading again.

Pateychuk did not drop below his opponent again, and Balaguer started the last hand of the three hour-long heads-up with a massive handicap. Balaguer went 3-bet all-in holding pocket Queens, Pateychuk called with {#}A {#}5 and hit a straight on the {#}9 {#}7 {#}4 {#}3 {#}2 board.

With this, Andrey Pateychuk, winner of this year's EPT San Remo managed to collect his first WPT title as well.
