The final table formed during Day 1. On the second day, players were lead by Gus Hansen, who sat on most of the chips, 567,000. Hansen defeated Phil Ivey in the last hand of Day 1. The SB Tony G checked, the BB Hansen bet 39.000(the pot was around 65.000), Nam Le folded from UTG, but Ivey went all-in with 123.000. Mikhail Smirnov folded after a bit of thinking, Tony G insta-folded, Hansen, however called.

The two shortstacks, Nam Le and Sam Trickett were eliminated shortly, then Sorel Mizzi lost all his chips, to Smirnov's A K hand, on the flop the Russian got a flush draw, and the river brought him the flush and Mizzi was out.

Hansen came to be the bubble boy, as he was the next to go. The Danish pro called Smirnov's 5-bet all-in preflop with A J, Smirnov showed T T. The dealer laid 9 8 7 2 5 on the table, the tens held.
A few minutes later Dan Smith opened to 28.000 (10th blind level: 6.000/12.000), Tony G raised to the pot, to which Smith also re-raised. Tony G pushed all-in, Smith called.

Smit won with a better kicker.
Smith was all-in again a bit later, this time around against the local Joe Hachem.

Even though Hachem got a three-of-a-kind on the turn, Smith got his flush on the river, Hachem finished 3rd.

Mikhail Smirnov - 866.000
The 3,5 hours long heads-up was quite balanced, Smirnov first took the lead from Smith, than vice versa. They started the 14th blind level (15.000/30.000) with even stacks, however the action spun up a bit later. Smirnov took a big pot with a better kicker, and later getting some smaller pots Smith managed to overtake the Russian. In a hand Smith beat Smirnov with pocket sixes, which made his situation worse.

Smirnov couldn't get back up, he pushed his remaining chips in with Q 6, Smith called with a pair of deuces, the dealer dealt a dry board again.
