WPT Venice

The WPT Venice €4.950 entry fee main event 6-handed final table was lead by Andrea Dato who sat on the most chips, and who was also there in last year's WPT Venice (December 2011)  final table, where he managed to finish 4th.

Seat 1: Andrea Dato - 1.591.000
Seat 2: Simon Ravnsbaek - 922.000
Seat 3: Andrea Carini - 347.000
Seat 4: Rinat Bogdanov - 907.000
Seat 5: Gianluca Trebbi - 343.000
Seat 6: Alessandro Longobardi - 558.000

On the 24th blind level (4.000/12.000/24.000) players began to be eliminated. Dato raised to 50.000, the shortstack Andrea Carini went 3-bet all-in with 367.000, Dato called.

The eights held, Carini was out.

By the 25th blind level (5.000/15.000/30.000) the also shortstacked Gianluca Trebbi went preflop all-in, which he did quite a lot of times before withouth any callers. Now, however, Alessandro Longobardi called with pocket jacks, Trebbi showed {#}{#}7. Even though the board gave a pair of tens to Trebbi, this wasn't enought to beat Longobardi, only 4 remained.

Andrea Dato - 1.600.000
Simon Ravnsbaek - 1.600.000
Alessandro Longobardi - 815.000
Rinat Bogdanov - 660.000

The next eliminated player came to be Simon Ravnsbaek. The Danish player went pre-flop all-in with 600.000, Rinat Bogdanov called with pocket tens, which in the end hit a flush and won.

3-handed game ended on the 28th blind level (10.000/30.000/60.000). Longobardi doubled up on Dato in a flip first, then a few minutes later Dato went all-in with his remaining 1.400.000 chips. Bogdanov insta-called.

Bogdanov started the final heads-up as the chipleader.

Bogdanov ~ 3.320.000
Longobardi ~ 1.350.000

The short heads-up didn't bring much. In the last hand (29th blind level: 10.000/40.000/80.000) Longobardi opened to 200.000-ig {#}{#}Q-val, Bogdanov called with {#}{#}4. The flop came {#}{#}{#}4. Longobardi c-bet to 60.000, Bogdanov check-called. The turn was {#}6. Longobardi bet 240.000, Bogdanov check-called again. The {#}4 river gave Bogdanov a full house, Longobardi two pairs. Bogdanov checked, Longobardi bet 300.000, to which Bogdanov went all-in, smiling. Longobardi looked at his cards again, called and congratulated Bogdanov when he saw the bad news.

This was Bogdanov's first WPT appearance, and he was able to win it right away. Congratulations!
