WSOP Event #10 - John Monnette Wins his Second Bracelet

16 players were still in at the second day of the $5,000 Sevent Card Stud Event at this year's WSOP. Jeff Lisandro started the day as chipleader with 276,000 in chips.
The eight-handed final table started after about three hours of play, and at this time John Monnette, the $2,500 8-Game champion was in the lead.

Raymond Dehkharghani said goodbye in eighth place, and Bryn Kenney followed after long seven-handed play. Kenney bet on the fourth street, and went check-raise all-in on the fifth, which got insta-called by Vinh.

Vinh was leading the chip count with 720,000 at this time.

A few minutes later Monnette sent Mark Dickstein home. One of the big favorites, Jeff Lisandro was next to leave. Lisandro was still better with his Nines than Perry Friedman when his little stack got in the middle.

Friedman hit his straight, and Lisandro busted in fifth place. 
 
At the 24th level Monnette and Friedman got their stacks in the middle, and Monnette won. He continued collecting chips, and at the 26th blind level he already had 1,780,000. Heads-up started when Vinh eliminated Timothy Finne.

Although Finne had a straight draw and flush draw, his outs did not come, and Vinh started heads-up with Monnette.

Vinh could not do anything to diminish Monnette's lead, and after half an hour, the event ended. Vinh pushed all-in at the third street.

Monnette won his second WSOP bracelet, and Vinh had his second Stud final this year, the irst one being event #7 $1,500 Seven Card Stud, where he took fifth place for $26,813.
