Oleksii Kovalchuk Wins Second Bracelet at WSOP Event #42

22 players were still in play on day 3 of the WSOP event #42 $2.500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better, with the five-time WSOP champion Jeff Lisandro in the lead with 355,000. Finally, Lisandro did not make it to the final table and said goodbye in tenth place.

But he was no the only big name in the field, as George Danzer, Yuval Bronshtein and Oleksii Kovalchuk were there at the eight-handed final.

Tim Burt took 8th place, and Wing Wong, Norman Chad and Yuval Bronshtein followed shortly. Bronshtein lost in Stud-8, first against Danzer, then he shoved in his remaining chips against Danny Ratigan on the fourth street.

Ratigan made a straight and Six low on the sixth street. Bronshtein's Seven did not make a difference.

Although Ratigan won big with this, he was the next one to leave. Kovalchuk took his stack. Kovalchuk then also eliminated Mark Gregorich. Heads-up started.

In the 40-minute heads-up, Danzer managed to come back on top; his stack was 2,022,000. Kovalchuk then managed to come even by winning three consecutive pots. He then took two other big pots at the 28th blind level, and already had 2,500,000. Although Danzer did not give up, the bracelet's fate soon became clear. 
 
Danzer raised from the button (Omaha-8), Kovalchuk re-raised, Danzer 4-bet, Kovalchuk 5-bet and Danzer called (all-in).

The 22 years old Ukranian Oleksii Kovalchuk won the second WSOP bracelet in his career.
