WSOP Event #53 and #54 - Neil Willerson and Will Jaffe Score Big

The WSOP Event #53 $1,500 No Limit Hold'em and Event #54 $1,000 No Limit Hold'em Championships have ended with the victory of Neil Willerson and Will Jaffe. Both players won theif first respective bracelets.

On the 4th day of Event #53, $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Championship only the heads-up remained. The best two players returned to the following stacks:

Vladimir Mefodichev - 10.500.000
Neil Willerson - 4.200.000


Dealing started on the 32nd blind level (20000/80.000/160.000), and the players battled for 45 minutes. Willerson managed to overcome his opponent, and gained the chiplead with two pairs. Mefodichev started the final hand with 3,100,000 chips. They both got all their chips in on the {#}4 {#}3 {#}8 flop.

Willerson won the tournament with a pair of sixes. This bracelet is his first WSOP bracelet ever.

Event #54, the $1,000 No Limit Hold'em Championship was quite similar, two players, Will Jaffe and Luis Campelo returned to their chips on Day 4 of the tournament to decide who takes the bracelet and of course the $550,075 main prize. Jaffe started as the chipleader.

Jaffe started the tourney better, but Campelo doubled up in a lucky hand; he got all-in with K-2 preflop against A-Q, and even though an ace fell, two deuces also came. Jaffe scored a few minor pots and gradually climbed back, he even took the lead by the 33rd blind level  (30.000/100.000/200.000).

Jaffe took a bigger pot with two pairs, and he was the more aggressive throughout the game, he gained an even greater lead. Soon the dealer dealt the final hand of the tournament. Campelo had only 1,800,000, which he shipped preflop, Jaffe insta-called.
