An era in French poker history ended on the 9th September, when the six finalists played the last PPT Grand Final. As you all probably know, the payout scandal caused owner Patrick Partouche to decide to put an end to the PPT series.
Former winners of the tournament were Alain Roy, Jean-Paul Pasqualini, Vanessa Selbst and Sam Trickett. It was sure that the lisrt would increase with another name this year.
Final Table chip counts:
Karen Sarkisyan - 3,990,000
Ole Schemion - 3,510,000
Marcello Marigliano - 3,165,000
Fabrice Touil - 2,555,000
Dan O'Brien - 2,500,000
Aaron Lim - 1,470,000
Fabrice Touil was the first to get eliminated; the at-the-time shortstack French player lost a flip with pocket fours against Ole SChemion's AT.
Soon after, Schemion also eliminated Marcello Marigliani, as his pocket Kings held up against the Italian's Jacks. Then, Schemion won another flip, when he received a straight to his AK, which thus eliminated Dan O'Brien, who went all-in with pocket nines.
Heads-up started when Aaron Li's pocket Aces lost against Schemion's AsKs, which turned into a flush.
Schemion:
K 2
Sarkisyan:
A 9
River:

Schemion won the tourney with a flush.
With this victory, Ole Schemion has achieved the biggest win in his career, his second best being this year's EPT Berlin €1,000 NLHE side event first place.
