Malaysian Mervin Chan won the 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event for A$1,600,000. Patrik Antonius finished 3rd, Dan Shak followed in 4th place.
The weekend saw the final day of the Aussie Millions A$10,600 Main Event. 2010 Aussie Millions High Roller champion Dan Shak started as chipleader in the 7-handed finale, accompanied by Patrik Antonius among the bigger names with bigger stacks.

Seat 1: Jarrod Glennon – 3,600,000
Seat 2: Patrik Antonius – 3,345,000
Seat 3: Dan Shak – 3,775,000
Seat 4: Jay Tan – 1,220,000
Seat 5: David Yan – 1,450,000
Seat 6: Joseph Cabret – 2,655,000
Seat 7: Mervin Chan – 2,910,000

Play started on Level 23 (5,000/15,000/30,000). Early into the day, Antonius opened to 60,000, Shak called and Jay Tan – 2012 Main Event runner-up Kenny Wong’s girlfriend – 3-bet to 175,000. Antonius 4-bet to 385,000, Shak folded and Tan shoved, getting snap-called by Antonius.

Antonius: {#}K {#}K

Board: {#}7 {#}7 {#}5 {#}6 {#}7

Antonius’ full house meant the end of the final table for Tan.

David Yan came next and, following a long 5-handed game, Jarrod Glennon got railed. On Level 27 (10,000/50,000/100,000), Shak was also eliminated: the American pro opened to 250,000 from UTG, Joe Cabret 3-bet to 760,000 from the Button, Shak shoved and Cabret called.

Shak: {#}A {#}6
Cabret: {#}A {#}K

Board: {#}5 {#}Q {#}A {#}T {#}3

Cabret’s better kicker meant a 4th finish for Shak.

After four hours of 3-handed play, the tournament management postponed the conclusion of the finale to Sunday. They started playing with the following setup:

Joseph Cabret – 7,720,000
Mervin Chan – 5,670,000
Patrik Antonius – 5,565,000

In only one hour, the Main Event was over: on Level 29 (10,000/80,000/160,000), Chan bet 325,000 from the Button, Antonius shoved from the SB with 4,960,000, Cabret folded and Chan called with pocket jacks. Antonius showed A-4 but the board did not help him. He was left with 160,000 in chips and got eliminated in the next hand.

Following a short break, a few hands long heads-up marked the end of the finale. Chan raised to 320,000, Cabret 3-bet to 860,000 and Chan called. The flop came {#}8 {#}7 {#}3 , both players checked. On the {#}8 turn, Cabret bet 1,200,000, Chan raised to 3,000,000, Cabret went all-in and Chan called with a bigger stack.

Cabret: {#}A {#}3
Chan: {#}8 {#}6
