Max Lykov started the Final Table of the EPT Berlin 2013 €10,000 High Roller event in the chiplead on Saturday, just ahead of EPT Deauville 2010 High Roller champion Martin Kabrhel and one of the most successful online MTT players of today, Team Ivey’s Griffin ’Flush_Entity’ Benger. The three of them were considered the favourites of the finale.

Seat 1: Max Lykov – 1,683,000
Seat 2: Martin Kabrhel – 1,643,000
Seat 3: Griffin Benger – 1,128,000
Seat 4: Aaron Lim – 867,000
Seat 5: Philippe Ktorza – 679,000
Seat 6: James Mitchell – 593,000
Seat 7: Joni Jouhkimainen – 412,000

Play started on Level 22 (3,000/12,000/24,000) and the first player to be eliminated was 2010 Irish Open champion James Mitchell, who 3-bet all-in on A-J and got called by original raiser Philippe Ktorza on A-Q and the board came neutral.

Ktorza then railed Joni Jouhkimainen as well with pocket queens against sixes. It was Kabrhel after that, who got into a difficult situation, due to the following hand: he opened to 80,000 from the CO on Level 24 (5,000/20,000/40,000). Benger 3-bet from the SB to 180,000 and Kabrhel flat called. The flop came {#}3 {#}7 {#}Q , Benger bet 155,000 and Kabrhel called again. They both checked the {#}T turn and the {#}Q river. Benger showed {#}A {#}Q and Kabrhel mucked his hand, having 475,000 in chips left. A couple of hands later, he was out: he shoved pre-flop on A-2s and got called by Aaron Lim on K-J, the latter improving to a straight.

Lykov finished in 4th place, making a hero call with Q-2 on Lim’s river-all in with K-Q on the K-3-3-2-J board and dropped back significantly, to shove all-in on A-5 and get called by Benger on A-9 on a neutral board. By eliminating the Russian, Benger further increased his already significant lead.

Griffin Benger – 5,095,000
Aaron Lim – 1,070,000
Philippe Ktorza – 885,000

On Level 26 (10,000/30,000/60,000), the tournament was over. Benger first eliminated Ktorza (A-J v. K-J) and then gave no chance to Lim in the heads-up, either; the Canadian kept increasing his edge and eventually called Lim’s all-in of 870,000 on K-2 with Q-J. The board came Q-T-A-4-K and Benger won the event with a straight.
