WSOP 2013 - Event #13 - Matusow Wins 4th Bracelet

An incredibly strong field of 20 players returned on Day 3 of World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2013 Event #13 $5,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo. They played it down all the way to the winner in an eight-handed finale.

A total of 210 players registered to WSOP 2013 Event #13 $5,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo for a prize pool of $987,000. 130 of them made it to Day 2 and 20 remained for Day 3, when it came down to the winner. Last day’s field included the likes of David ‘Bakes’ Baker, Mike Matusow, Joe Than, Vladimir ‘GVOZDIKA55’ Shchemelev, Brian Hastings and chipleader Yuval Bronshtein.

In the end, the following Final Table of eight players was set:

Seat 1: Matthew Ashton – 171,000
Seat 2: Mike Matusow – 405,000
Seat 3: Vladimir Shchemelev – 41,000
Seat 4: Yuval Bronshtein – 896,000
Seat 5: Tony Cousineau – 260,000
Seat 6: Gavin Smith – 221,000
Seat 7: David Baker – 801,000
Seat 8: Mike Leah – 354,000

Shchemelev opened the line of eliminations, getting railed in the 4th hand of the finale. Gavin Smith, Tony Cousineau and Bronshtein followed, the latter losing his top stack along the way.

The long four-handed game was ended with the elimination of Baker, who ran into Mike Leah’s top two pairs:

Still, it was Leah, who was out in 3rd:

Matusow won the hand with a set.

Matusow gained the lead from Matthew Ashton in the heads-up and refused to let it go, winning the tournament with the following hand:

Matusow earned his fourth WSOP bracelet with his victory.
