1,819 players registered to WSOP 2013 Event #14 $1,500 No Limit Hold’em to accumulate a total prize pool of $2,455,650. Only 206 of them survived and returned on Day 2, where the bubble burst with 198 ITM finishes. Eventually, 14 entrants could bag their chips for the final day with Hiren Patel in the lead (1,510,000).

The eventual Final Table seat draw was as follows:

Seat 1: Patrick Kubak – 859,000
Seat 2: Jonathan Taylor – 2,057,000
Seat 3: Blake Bohn – 738,000
Seat 4: Hunter Frey – 399,000
Seat 5: Joseph Pergola – 678,000
Seat 6: Tommy Vu – 364,000
Seat 7: Dan Gannon – 360,000
Seat 8: Jed Hoffman – 883,000
Seat 9: Hiren Patel – 1,854,000

Joseph Pergola, Dan Gannon, Jed Hoffman and Patrick Kubat lost their stacks in this order and, on Level 27 (5,000/25,000/50,000), Tommy Vu shoved as well on a J-9-4 flop. He was called only by Jonathan Taylor, who held pocket nines for a set against Vu’s J-9 two pairs and the rest of the streets came neutral.

A couple of hands later, Patel raised from SB to 135,000, Taylor called all-in from BB and Patel called.

Patel: {#}A {#}J
Taylor: {#}K {#}9

Board: {#}3 {#}2 {#}6 {#}9 {#}7

Taylor won with top pair and Patel finished 4th.

Hunter Frey’s elimination gave way for the heads-up; he shoved on J-T and Taylor called with queens, which hand held out on the board.

Jonathan Taylor – 5,310,000
Blake Bohn – 2,875,000

The tournament ended on Level 29 (10,000/40,000/80,000). Taylor increased his lead and eventually shoved preflop on Blake Bohn’s 200,000 raise, who called.

Taylor: {#}K {#}9
Bohn: {#}A {#}5

Board: {#}5 {#}6 {#}8 {#}9 {#}3

Taylor won the tournament with yet another pair of nines.
