WSOP 2013 - Event #18 - Paur Wins, Ivey Finishes 14th

14 players returned to the tables at this year's WSOP Event#18, the $1,000 NLHE tournament. The chipleader was still Taylor 'taypaur' Paur with 1,318,000 chips, ahead of his opponents; Alexander Barlow was sitting on the second biggest stack of 792,000. Daniel Idema, the WSOP 2011 bracelet holder in $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship was also in the field.

vey didn't make it to the final table, he finished 14th. He called Ryan Austin's A-T with A-9 on a dry board, and managed to double up in a following hand, but he lost all his chips in an A-4 vs. 7-7 clash. A 7 on the board eliminated Ivey.

Double elimination opened the final table. Paur, still in the lead opened from MP to 40,000, Austin shoved with 565,000, Kyle Cartwright called with 382,000, Paur also called.

Paur won with a full house, Cartwright finished 9th, Austin 8th.

On the 24th blind level (4,000-12,000/24,000) Idema went all-in from SB with 449,000 with K-Q. The BB DJ MacKinnon held pocket rockets, insta-called, which won him the pot, Idema was out 7th.

Phillip Hui, MacKinnon and Kevin Barlow came to be te next to be eliminated, Paur started the 3-handed play with a huge advantage.

The heads-up was set on the 26th blind level (5,000-20,000/40,000). Paur opened to 80,000, the BB Nguyen called. The flop came {#}7 {#}9 {#}3 . Paur cbet 85,000, Nguyen raised to 210,000, Paur went all-in, Nguyen all-in called with 930,000 . Paur showed {#}A {#}K , Nguyen {#}Q {#}T , the turn brought {#}8 s, the river {#}6 .

Roy Weiss took the lead in the heads-up, but by the 28th blind level Paur took the lead. Weiss shoved in almost all the hands and managed to double up on Paur.

A few hands later Paur doubled up on Weiss, and they were soon all-in again:

The former MTT profit list leader already played at some WSOP events, even managed to get to the final table, but this is his first win so far.
