To the tournament dedicated to players of 50 and above, WSOP 2013 Event #26 $1,000 Seniors No Limit Hold’em, 4,407 entrants registered and a prize pool of $3,966,300 was amassed. Only 640 of them made it to Day 2, where the money bubble of 441 finishes burst. On Day 3, 34 players returned to see it through to the crowning of a champion. James Miller had the chiplead with a stack of 1,088,000 but the most renowned player was Hoyt Corkins, sitting behind 266,000 in chips.

The latter did not make it to the nine-handed final table, finishing 23rd. The Final Table bubble burst with the elimination of Stephen Lutz on Level 25 (5,000/15,000/30,000).

The Final Table seat draw was as follows:

The first to be eliminated in the finale was Fernando Halac, going all-in on the flop with a flush draw but remaining behind Kenneth Lind’s Q-T and flopped queen top pair. Jack Ernest, Miller, Michel Bouskila, Randolph Spain and Barry Bashist followed.

When John Holley shoved with {#}K {#}5 on the {#}7 {#}K {#}T {#}6 board, Dana Ott called and showed an unbeatable {#}8 {#}9 and the heads-up was set.

Kenneth Lind – 6,990,000
Dana Ott – 6,220,000

Lind soon built his stack to over 10,000,000 and Ott did not manage to come back. The last hand was played on Level 32 (20,000/80,000/160,000), where they shoved on the {#}7 {#}8 {#}T {#}7 board. Ott held {#}J {#}7 for a set but met Lind’s {#}J {#}9 for a straight and the {#}K on the river ended the game.
