The long heads-up finale featured a varied gameplay; even though Hagerling was gradually losing chips, down to 1,739,000 at a point, he managed to come back and turn the tide until it was Steinberg down to under a million in chips. Play ended only on Level 28 (5,000/25,000/50,000): with about 500,000 left before him in chips, Steinberg called all-in preflop.
