WSOP 2013 - Event #34 - Gathy wins, Reason Second

By Day 2 at the WSOP Event #34 - $1,000 NLHE Turbo (due to the turbo structure) only 35 players were remaining. The 9-handed final table was set by the 22nd blind level and lead by Daniel Bishop.

Russel Crane was eliminated first, followed by Noah Vaillancourt and Jake Cody. Cody started the final table from second place, but Michael Gathy doubled up on him, which diminished his stack to 569,000. Cody lost a few hands afterwards, which lead to his eventual elimination on the 23rd blind level (3,000-10,000/20,000). Duval opened to 50,000, Cody shoved with 417,000. The BB Gathy went reraise all-in, Duval folded. Cody showed A-J, Gathy a pair of tens, the neutral board decided Cody's fate.

5th came to be Daniel Bishop, 4th Sergey Rybachenko, and the heads-up formulated with the elimination of Yueqi Zhu. The latter two players were ousted by Gathy, who started the heads-up from a major chiplead.

In the last hand of the short heads-u, Reason raised to 80,000 (26th blind level, 5,000-20,000/40,000), Gathy 3bet to 180,000, Reason went all-in with 905,000, Gathy called.
