One of the most talked-about incidents at the 2025 WSOP Main Event happened on Day 7 of the world championship in Las Vegas: Will Kassouf was banned from the rest of this year's series. The British poker player was informed of the decision immediately after busting. He lost an all-in hand against Kenny Hallaert, finishing 33rd for $300,000 – but the story didn’t end there.
WSOP organizers officially told him after his elimination that he would not be allowed to play any remaining events at the 2025 WSOP. This decision wasn’t triggered by a single incident, but by Kassouf’s behavior throughout the week: constant, deliberately provocative trash talk, excessive stalling (including ten-minute tanks), and repeated insults aimed at American players.
His Main Event exit itself was chaotic: Kassouf loudly protested, demanded to speak with WSOP Vice President Jack Effel, and was booed by parts of the crowd. Security eventually escorted him from the tournament area.
While some poker fans still find his table talk entertaining, many believe Kassouf has long crossed the line of acceptable behavior at a world championship event. The WSOP’s official decision made it clear: for Kassouf, the 2025 WSOP is over.
