A new poker application, the Full House Poker has been announced by Microsoft to hit Xbox Live during Spring, 2011. Featuring player avatars, the game will present tournaments and heads-up games in a somewhat similar style as if you watched televised events. Playing against bots (computer-driven opponents) as well as against fellow human players will be possible, even though real money games are not yet certain.

30 players will be able to play in events, greatly enhancing the social experience. Besides Texas Hold’em “cash game” tables, the main feature will be the Texas Heat, resembling a real life tournament; a whole season of tournaments can be played with 10-handed tables. For additional excitement, over 150 virtual prizes will be up for grabs, including t-shirts, custom designed tables, avatar moves, etc. Once again, real money play is not yet an option, but for something that is downloadable for free, it sounds definitely great fun. For X360 owners, anyway.
Full House Poker is to step in the place of an otherwise successful, although cancelled project due to lack of interest from advertiser companies, 1 vs. 100, of course representing a rather different game experience.
