Even though PPA Executive Director John Pappas had participated in the talks with the representatives of the Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section of the US Department of Justice, accompanying ZwillGen PLLC counsels Marc Zwillinger and Ken Dreifach, and even claiming the meeting to had been productive, the PPA later recognised that the conclusion of the reimbursement process was still a long way down the road with the government, at the time, still seeking a third-party administrator to manage the procedure.
On July 30, PPA Vice President for Player Relations Rich Muny posted in his newsletter a request to poker players to “please take a moment to fill out a survey on this issue. The question asking if you contacted the DoJ includes broad advocacy like the tweets from the Poker Daily Action Plan, specific requests to the DoJ for action on your account, and everything in between. In other words, if the DoJ has heard from you in any fashion, please let us know!”
In the meantime, Muny has also promised an action page where users can find, edit and send a prewritten letter to their congressman and senators to ask for help in resolving individual issues, as far as the FTP accounts are concerned. Players will also have access to another letter, in which they can ask their elected representatives to put pressure on the DoJ to speed up the refunding process.
