’Isildur1’ was last seen playing high stakes on 9 September at PokerStars. No piece of official information has surfaced regarding his absence; rumour has had it that he had been at odds with PokerStars management as they had allowed Brian ‘Stinger88’ Hastings and Brian Townsend to play high stakes at the room.
Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom
It has also been suggested that he wanted to reinforce his bankroll, so he got to play in different rooms under unknown screen names; also, he has been said to play at PokerStars as well with other players’ accounts. This led to every single newcomer high stakes grinder being identified as ‘Isildur1;’ most recently, ‘wilhasha’ was accused of sharing his account with the Swede pro. This was based on ‘wilhasha’ being one of the most active NLHE heads-up players since his debut at the high stakes tables, achieving some notable results while not caring much about who he is playing against.
Whether all these rumours have anything to do with reality, we do not know and we probably never will. What is certain, however, is the fact that Blom has returned to the PokerStars high stakes tables on 9 December.
He has played his first session against Canadian ‘VietRussian’ in $25/$50 PLO heads-up, and at the time of the writing of this article, he has been playing against Gavin ‘gavz101’ Cochran on the same stakes.
