Isaac Haxton
As we informed you a bit earlier this week, Isaac Haxton won the first SuperStar Showdown (turning a $41,701 profit) againts the mysterious Isildur. As we promised, he is back. After the match, Haxton commented the showdown at the PokerStars Blog:
“No one has ever more consistently made me miserable when playing against them,” Haxton said. [...] “I guess I’d put (Phil) Ivey in second for that, but it’s honestly not that close. Isildur’s brand of over the top–but carefully balanced–aggression is unlike anything I’ve played against and really takes me out of my comfort zone in a lot of situations. As someone who’s probably played half a million hands of high stakes HUNL, that’s saying something.”
Even though Haxton was extremely polite and elegant with the newest PokerStars pro, Isildur is not at all happy about the game, he declared the following to PokerStars Blog:
"I want to play this guy again, because I didn't feel he was so good. I dont think he deserved to win...He ran too good and I want re-match in a game for 5,000 hands, I would beat him easily. I am certain." - said Isildur1.
Haxton has not yet commented on the "challenge", but he is definitely running hot after "he harpooned the Moby Dick of heads-up poker players", as PokerStars Blog puts it: he managed to grow his bankroll with $91,000 more after some grinding at a $50/100 NLHE cash game table, which seems a great session from him.
Can a new superstar be in the making? We'll see how he reacts soon.
