Poker Fight - Lex Veldhuis Kicks ElkY's Ass

<a href="http://www.rakerace.com/news/poker-players/lex-veldhuis-fights-bertrand-grospellier-in-may/">As they reported in April</a>, Lex 'RasZi' Veldhuis and his fellow PokerStars pro Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier arranged to fight each other in an MMA fight. The match took place yesterday with the victory of Veldhuis, who knocked Grospellier out in the 2nd round.

The two poker pros decided in April that they are willing to fight each other in a kicbox match right before the WSOP. They even published training videos, and took bets on the fight. Many of the poker pros indeed gambled, and placed bets. Daniel Negreanu, for example wagered $50,000 on Veldhuis's victory, but Terrence Chan, JC Alvarado, William Reynolds, Joseph Cheong all bet on one of the fighters. They postponed the game until 22 November, 2011.

Both players trained for the match vigorously, both of them had a professional MMA trainer to help them, ElkY trained with Lincon 'Bad Boy' Rodrigues.

The match took place yesterday in Marbella, Spain. The fight itself didn't last too long, the dominant RasZi defeated ElkY with a devastating kick to the head in the second round of the 5-round match. Daniel Negreanu acknowledged RasZi's victory right after the match on his twitter:
