According to an article by PokerStars, the player strike between December 1 - 3 was positive for them, because it resulted in the ''healthiest ecosystem of the year'' thanks to the absence of the high-volume players.
They stated that their revenues were stable, that the net depositing players lost at a much slower pace than usual and that the strike confirmed them that they are on the right path.
According to traffic analysis, MTT and SNG formats saw a definite drop while cash games showed a minimal drop in traffic, but the results of the strike are hard to determine.
The site was running a Christmas promotion during the time period of the strike but according to the estimates of Macropoker, PokerStars lost out on $700,000 in rake in SNG and MTT formats due to the strike. This number is significantly lower at the cash game tables.
According to Eric Hollreiser (Head of Communications) the strike barely had an impact on the site and thanks to the holiday promotions they managed to get exceptional traffic.
Hollreiser added that they are sorry about the late announcement of the VIP changes but that players will still receive higher returns then previously planned and that the final changes on the VIP system are only going to be implemented in 2017.
The poker community won't back down however, the We Are Poker Players group is planning increasingly bigger player strikes for the new year.
